Comment on blondies, infinitely adaptable by Dorothy Van Daele /2006/11/blondies/#comment-2690440 Tue, 29 Apr 2025 02:44:05 +0000 http://smittenkitchen.com/2006/11/blondies-for-a-blondie#comment-2690440 I love your Blondies, thank you! They are the first of your recipes I tried, and a dessert purely to indulge myself at home. I usually make dark chocolate stuffed with walnuts, and at the same time, white chocolate with pecans. I know there are more adventurous combinations but these are so satisfying!

Comment on obsessively good avocado cucumber salad by Lucy /2015/04/obsessively-good-avocado-cucumber-salad/#comment-2690434 Tue, 29 Apr 2025 01:07:25 +0000 http://smittenkitchen.com/?p=15231#comment-2690434 RUN, do not WALK to make this. It is addictive. It’s perfect for an avocado that is not quite ripe yet because the avo cubes will hold their shape well in this salad.

Longtime reader, first-time commenter. My husband is a very active weightlifter—I’m wondering how to make this a bit more filling for him, maybe with a protein? Thoughts on how to incorporate tofu in the bowl, or maybe use quinoa instead of rice? Thank you in advance!

And I really tried, but it absolutely failed. It came out completely flat and rubbery. I followed your directions and cannot figure out why there was no rise to the pancake at all. I’ve made chocolate souffles that have worked beautifully, but this came out awful.

Wondering if I could I riff on this by substituting other juices for the cider? Like pear or even carrot juice..
